To create your personalized treatment plan, we first create a three-dimensional impression of your teeth using a special digital scanner, and we send this data to Invisalign. This image enables Invisalign to model a treatment plan that begins with your current alignment and then gradually shifts your teeth into proper alignment using a series of custom-designed aligner trays. This plan outlines costs and the expected length of treatment.
When your treatment plan is complete, Invisalign manufactures your personal set of aligner trays and sends them to our office. We then have you return to our office for an overview of your treatment plan, a walkthrough of how to use them, and an outline of your treatment schedule.
Treatment with Invisalign can last anywhere from six to 18 months on average, depending on the patient's needs. Although they can be removed for meals or other activities, for optimal results, it's necessary to wear your aligner trays for 20 to 22 hours each day. On this schedule, you'll progress to a new set of aligners about every two weeks. Throughout your treatment, we'll schedule you for follow-up appointments to monitor and assess your progress.
